About

I am an attorney from New York and currently teach United States law at a University in Asia.  Students ask great questions, but usually not in class.  In this blog I will address some of the questions international students ask me about United States law after class, in their papers, and in emails.  I'll also talk about some of the questions I receive from attorneys who practice in countries other than the United States.  Feel free to get in touch with me with general questions about law in the United States (uslawessentials at gmail dot com).    I'll be upfront about questions that stump me and will try to point you in the right direction to get your answer.

Some additional background for you: I practiced business litigation in New York City with a focus on securities fraud.  When not teaching I do consulting work and am interested in children's rights.
